It is basically a fibre-glass brush. It works well at removing baked on grime on baking trays. For best results I found a drop of washing liquid helped a lot but it still requires a lot of elbow grease. I have not noticed any additional marks in the non-stick coating. Only real down size it its length, as it is not very long it can be quite hard to grip with large hands. Also recommend revealing about half of that shown in the pictures.
